Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Two works: (i) Untitled; (ii) Untitled by Paul Cowan was auctioned at Phillips in London in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 630.00 (€ 703.77). Admittedly, works by Paul Cowan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bceause The Sky Is Blue in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,680.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Two works: (i) Untitled; (ii) Untitled von Paul Cowan im Dezember 2020 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 630,00 (€ 703,77) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Cowan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bceause The Sky Is Blue im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.680,74).
