Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cie. Gle. Transatlantique/French Line by Paul Colin was auctioned at Bonhams in January this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 357.00 (€ 328.79). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Colin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Tumulte Noir in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 118,750.00 (€ 133,946.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cie. Gle. Transatlantique/French Line von Paul Colin im Januar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 357,00 (€ 328,79) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Colin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Tumulte Noir im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 118.750,00 (€ 133.946,39).
