Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2003 Christies in New York held the auction PLAYBOY AT 50, which included the work Untitled (A Tribute), 1984 by Patrick Nagel. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,182.50 (€ 3,320.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Patrick Nagel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kristen in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 300,000.00 (€ 269,082.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion PLAYBOY AT 50 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (A Tribute), 1984 von Patrick Nagel zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.182,50 (€ 3.320,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Patrick Nagel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kristen im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 300.000,00 (€ 269.082,43).
