Annotated 'Edition Picasso', numbered 233/300 and 'Madoura' in black paint, and with the Edition Picasso and Madoura Plein Feu pottery stamps on the underside.

Sold at the upper estimate price
In October 2018 Phillips in New York held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Face tankard (Chope visage) by Pablo Picasso. The auction ended at the price of USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,294.74), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pablo Picasso achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les femmes d'Alger (Version 'O') in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 179,365,000.00 (€ 163,148,080.77).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2018 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Face tankard (Chope visage) von Pablo Picasso zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.294,74) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pablo Picasso erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les femmes d'Alger (Version 'O') im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 179.365.000,00 (€ 163.148.080,77).
