Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hrác Na Cello (The Cellist) by Otto Gutfreund was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale auction at Christies in London in March 2021. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,342.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Otto Gutfreund have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Czech lovers, Embracing Figures (Milenci, Objímající Se Postavy) in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 46,850.00 (€ 51,830.82).

Die Arbeit Hrác Na Cello (The Cellist) von Otto Gutfreund wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.342,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Otto Gutfreund auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Czech lovers, Embracing Figures (Milenci, Objímající Se Postavy) im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 46.850,00 (€ 51.830,82).
