Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Tête de femme (Maud Bonneaud) by Óscar Domínguez was auctioned at Christies in Paris in April this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 18,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at EUR 85,680.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Óscar Domínguez achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Toro Y Torero (Composition Au Taureau) in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 1,805,000.00 (€ 2,488,826.92).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Tête de femme (Maud Bonneaud) von Óscar Domínguez im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 18.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 85.680,00 mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Óscar Domínguez erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Toro Y Torero (Composition Au Taureau) im Februar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.805.000,00 (€ 2.488.826,92).
