The work I Am Still Alive by On Kawara was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2019. It achieved a price of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,178.78), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by On Kawara achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Decade) in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 4,175,000.00 (€ 3,715,735.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit I Am Still Alive von On Kawara kam im April 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.178,78) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von On Kawara erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Decade) im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.175.000,00 (€ 3.715.735,14).
