This artwork by Oluwole Omofemi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in September last year. In the New Now auction, the work Red Cup sold for USD 31,500.00 (€ 32,198.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Oluwole Omofemi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Invader in March last year with an auction result of USD 189,000.00 (€ 170,377.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Oluwole Omofemi erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde die Arbeit Red Cup für USD 31.500,00 (€ 32.198,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oluwole Omofemi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Invader im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 189.000,00 (€ 170.377,72).
