Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Bather by Nguyen Phan Chanh. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 220,000.00 – 380,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,150.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nguyen Phan Chanh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Couturières (Seamstresses at Work) in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 10,930,000.00 (€ 1,152,878.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bather von Nguyen Phan Chanh zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 220.000,00 – 380.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.150,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nguyen Phan Chanh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Couturières (Seamstresses at Work) im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 10.930.000,00 (€ 1.152.878,17).
