Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reflections of Robben Island by Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Bonhams in London in September last year. The price achieved of GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,627.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Cell Door, Robben Island in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 112,575.00 (€ 100,973.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Reflections of Robben Island von Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Prints and Multiples bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.627,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Cell Door, Robben Island im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.575,00 (€ 100.973,18).
