Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Ayrton'S Fight With The Pirates by N. C. Wyeth. The price achieved of USD 471,000.00 (€ 395,864.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by N. C. Wyeth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Farmer (Pennsylvania Farmer) in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,985,900.00 (€ 5,129,305.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ayrton'S Fight With The Pirates von N. C. Wyeth zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 471.000,00 (€ 395.864,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von N. C. Wyeth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Farmer (Pennsylvania Farmer) im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.985.900,00 (€ 5.129.305,91).
