Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The Horse Race (Cursing and Whipping like a Madman, the Scarlet Jockey Drew up on the Turn, Hung Knee to Knee, Passed Him by) by N. C. Wyeth. It changed hands for a price of USD 685,500.00 (€ 607,335.87) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Admittedly, works by N. C. Wyeth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Farmer (Pennsylvania Farmer) in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,985,900.00 (€ 5,129,305.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Horse Race (Cursing and Whipping like a Madman, the Scarlet Jockey Drew up on the Turn, Hung Knee to Knee, Passed Him by) von N. C. Wyeth zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 685.500,00 (€ 607.335,87) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von N. C. Wyeth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Farmer (Pennsylvania Farmer) im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.985.900,00 (€ 5.129.305,91).
