Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work The Husking Bee by N. C. Wyeth. It changed hands for a price of USD 112,500.00 (€ 102,003.81) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by N. C. Wyeth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Farmer (Pennsylvania Farmer) in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,985,900.00 (€ 5,129,305.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Husking Bee von N. C. Wyeth zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 102.003,81) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von N. C. Wyeth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Farmer (Pennsylvania Farmer) im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.985.900,00 (€ 5.129.305,91).
