Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Dinner by Monica Bonvicini was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,478.45). Admittedly, works by Monica Bonvicini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in April last year with an auction result of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 48,080.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Dinner von Monica Bonvicini im Juni 2014 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.478,45) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Monica Bonvicini auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.320,00 (€ 48.080,17).
