Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modernismo: Spanish Artists of the 20th Century, which included the work 1 2 3 by Modest Cuixart. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,913.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Modest Cuixart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Brufungles in March 2018 with an auction result of EUR 37,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modernismo: Spanish Artists of the 20th Century durch, in der auch die Arbeit 1 2 3 von Modest Cuixart zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.016,00 (€ 1.913,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Modest Cuixart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Brufungles im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 37.500,00.
