This artwork by Modest Cuixart achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April last year. In the Modernismo: Spanish Artists of the 20th Century auction, the work Tors sold for USD 13,860.00 (€ 13,153.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Modest Cuixart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Brufungles, which sold at auction in March 2018 for EUR 37,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Modest Cuixart erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modernismo: Spanish Artists of the 20th Century wurde die Arbeit Tors für USD 13.860,00 (€ 13.153,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Modest Cuixart mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Brufungles beobachtet, die im März 2018 für EUR 37.500,00 versteigert wurde.
