The work Testa Roja by Modest Cuixart was sold in the Modernismo: Spanish Artists of the 20th Century auction at Sothebys in New York in April last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,968.40), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Modest Cuixart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brufungles in March 2018 with an auction result of EUR 37,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Testa Roja von Modest Cuixart wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modernismo: Spanish Artists of the 20th Century bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.450,00 (€ 8.968,40) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Modest Cuixart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brufungles im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 37.500,00.
