In May 2009 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included this untitled work by Mithu Sen. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 40,000.00 (€ 3,652.84), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mithu Sen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Four Untitled Works in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 14,900.00 (€ 18,953.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2009 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mithu Sen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 40.000,00 (€ 3.652,84) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mithu Sen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Four Untitled Works im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.900,00 (€ 18.953,45).
