Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mithu Sen could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, this work without title changed hands for GBP 938.00 (€ 1,322.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mithu Sen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Four Untitled Works in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 14,900.00 (€ 18,953.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mithu Sen konnte im Juni 2015 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 938,00 (€ 1.322,57) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mithu Sen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Four Untitled Works im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.900,00 (€ 18.953,45).
