Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Mithu Sen was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary auction at Christies in New York in September 2014. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,959.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mithu Sen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Four Untitled Works in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 14,900.00 (€ 18,953.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mithu Sen wurde im September 2014 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.959,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mithu Sen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Four Untitled Works im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.900,00 (€ 18.953,45).
