The work Wisdom by Mithu Sen was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2019. The result of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,751.03) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mithu Sen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Four Untitled Works in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 14,900.00 (€ 18,953.45).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Wisdom von Mithu Sen wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.751,03) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mithu Sen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Four Untitled Works im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.900,00 (€ 18.953,45).
