Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Phillips in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work BP Carson Refinery, California from American Power by Mitch Epstein. The price achieved of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,431.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mitch Epstein - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Amos Coal Power Plant, West Virginia from American Power, which sold at auction in April 2015 for USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,993.55).
