Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Selected Images from 'The City' by Mitch Epstein was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,040.00 (€ 6,661.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Mitch Epstein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Amos Coal Power Plant, West Virginia from American Power in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,993.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Selected Images from 'The City' von Mitch Epstein kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.040,00 (€ 6.661,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mitch Epstein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Amos Coal Power Plant, West Virginia from American Power im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 55.993,55).
