Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art Including Select Works From the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries, which included the work Performance in a Tavern by Mihály Munkácsy. The price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 30,510.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mihály Munkácsy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Two Families in October 2003 with an auction result of USD 662,700.00 (€ 570,850.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art Including Select Works From the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries durch, in der auch die Arbeit Performance in a Tavern von Mihály Munkácsy zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 30.510,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mihály Munkácsy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Two Families im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 662.700,00 (€ 570.850,20).
