Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 245,000.00 (€ 214,142.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mihály Munkácsy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Two Families, which sold at auction in October 2003 for USD 662,700.00 (€ 570,850.20).
