Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Young Woman Sitting On A Sofa by Mihály Munkácsy was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2016. The price achieved of USD 245,000.00 (€ 214,142.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mihály Munkácsy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Two Families, which sold at auction in October 2003 for USD 662,700.00 (€ 570,850.20).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 245.000,00 (€ 214.142,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden.
