Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 87,500.00 (€ 77,502.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Michiel van Musscher have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Interior With A Young Girl, Seated At A Table Covered With An Indian Carpet And Reading A Letter, Attended By A Negro Page in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 456,000.00 (€ 350,823.20).

Die Arbeit A Doctor In His Studio von Michiel van Musscher kam im Januar 2015 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 77.502,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
