Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Three Quarter-Length Portrait Of An Artist Seated At His Writing Table by Michiel van Musscher was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,611.94). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michiel van Musscher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Interior With A Young Girl, Seated At A Table Covered With An Indian Carpet And Reading A Letter, Attended By A Negro Page in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 456,000.00 (€ 350,823.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Three Quarter-Length Portrait Of An Artist Seated At His Writing Table von Michiel van Musscher im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.611,94) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michiel van Musscher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Interior With A Young Girl, Seated At A Table Covered With An Indian Carpet And Reading A Letter, Attended By A Negro Page im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 456.000,00 (€ 350.823,20).
