Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work You're Not Boarding Till Group 40 by Michael Williams was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,048.00 (€ 5,358.38). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scott Whatever 2 in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 93,750.00 (€ 88,761.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit You're Not Boarding Till Group 40 von Michael Williams im November 2021 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.048,00 (€ 5.358,38) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scott Whatever 2 im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 88.761,60).
