Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work DAD.PSD by Michael Williams was auctioned at Phillips in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,413.00 (€ 2,219.46). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scott Whatever 2 in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 93,750.00 (€ 88,761.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit DAD.PSD von Michael Williams im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.413,00 (€ 2.219,46) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scott Whatever 2 im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 88.761,60).
