Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work The Best Way Out Is Through (No. 2) by Michael Phelan for USD 5,313.00 (€ 3,736.55). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Part I and Part II at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Michael Phelan have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2012 by the work The Best Way Out Is Through (No. 4) at GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,927.59).
