Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Shirt by Michaël Borremans was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in February 2020. The price achieved of GBP 187,500.00 (€ 217,312.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michaël Borremans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Girl With Duck in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,045,000.00 (€ 2,860,444.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Shirt von Michaël Borremans wurde im Februar 2020 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 187.500,00 (€ 217.312,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michaël Borremans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Girl With Duck im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.045.000,00 (€ 2.860.444,21).
