Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in association with Yongle, which included the work The Assistant by Michaël Borremans. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 3,200,000.00 – 4,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 3,402,000.00 (€ 407,680.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Michaël Borremans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Girl With Duck in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,045,000.00 (€ 2,860,444.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in association with Yongle durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Assistant von Michaël Borremans zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 3.200.000,00 – 4.200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 3.402.000,00 (€ 407.680,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michaël Borremans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Girl With Duck im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.045.000,00 (€ 2.860.444,21).
