Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Scoundrel by Mel Bochner was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in October this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 12,700.00 (€ 12,017.41). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mel Bochner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blah, Blah, Blah in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 159,249.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Scoundrel von Mel Bochner wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 12.700,00 (€ 12.017,41) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mel Bochner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blah, Blah, Blah im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 159.249,19).
