In July 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Online | New York, which included the work Medium II by Max Cole. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,200.00 (€ 21,240.73), 68% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Max Cole; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Mirage. 1986. sold at auction in June this year with the realized price of CHF 24,700.00 (€ 25,279.05).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen

Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit Medium II von Max Cole zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.200,00 (€ 21.240,73) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Max Cole; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Mirage. 1986. im Juni diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von CHF 24.700,00 (€ 25.279,05).
