Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Max Cole could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Online | New York auction, the work Circles changed hands for USD 1,386.00 (€ 1,168.24) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Cole achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mirage. 1986. in June this year with an auction result of CHF 24,700.00 (€ 25,279.05).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Max Cole konnte im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York wechselte die Arbeit Circles für USD 1.386,00 (€ 1.168,24) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Cole erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mirage. 1986. im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 24.700,00 (€ 25.279,05).
