In October 2005 Christies in New York held the auction 20th Century PhotographsThe Elfering Collection, which included the work Masters of the Real, 2000-2002 by Matthias Schaller. The »bidding war« ended at USD 24,000.00 (€ 20,008.34), 20% above the upper estimate. Other works by Matthias Schaller have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of EUR 25,000.00 in November 2020 for the work Dis Set, 2008-2009.
