Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Small Change by Matt Johnson was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March 2011. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,820.28) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matt Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seaweed Sculpture in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 25,700.00 (€ 32,763.87).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Small Change von Matt Johnson kam im März 2011 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 2.820,28) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matt Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Seaweed Sculpture im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.700,00 (€ 32.763,87).
