Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Matias Faldbakken could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Discoveries auction, the work Untitled (Y.6) changed hands for USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,407.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matias Faldbakken achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Mdf) in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 262,500.00 (€ 248,156.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Matias Faldbakken konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Y.6) für USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.407,55) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matias Faldbakken erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Mdf) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 262.500,00 (€ 248.156,55).
