Despite a disappointment, a good price for Masao Yamamoto
This work of art by Masao Yamamoto could be acquired at Phillips in New York in April 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation, Part 2 auction, the work Nakazora changed hands for USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,651.68) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Despite this disappointing result, Nakazora is the most expensive artwork by Masao Yamamoto that we have observed at auction so far.
