Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Black White Inner Band, Beveled) by Mary Corse was auctioned at Phillips in New York in July 2020. The price achieved of USD 250,000.00 (€ 212,332.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 220,000.00 – 280,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Corse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled), which sold at auction in December 2020 for HKD 5,000,000.00 (€ 527,391.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Black White Inner Band, Beveled) von Mary Corse kam im Juli 2020 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 212.332,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 220.000,00 – 280.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mary Corse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für HKD 5.000.000,00 (€ 527.391,66) versteigert wurde.
