Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Horse and Rider), circa 1953 by Martín Ramírez was sold in the Outsider Art auction at Christies in New York in February last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,728.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Martín Ramírez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Tunnels and Train), 1950s in January 2021 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 154,511.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Horse and Rider), circa 1953 von Martín Ramírez wurde im Februar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 26.728,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martín Ramírez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Tunnels and Train), 1950s im Januar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 154.511,74).
