Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Christmas, London from Common Sense by Martin Parr was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,048.00 (€ 2,884.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Martin Parr have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Last Resort, 1983-86 in April 2021 with an auction result of GBP 21,420.00 (€ 24,639.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Christmas, London from Common Sense von Martin Parr kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.048,00 (€ 2.884,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Parr auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Last Resort, 1983-86 im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.420,00 (€ 24.639,23).
