A top price for Martin Parr
In April 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction 50 Masterworks to Celebrate 50 Years of Sotheby’s Photographs, which included the work The Last Resort, 1983-86 by Martin Parr. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 21,420.00 (€ 24,639.23), 43% above the upper estimate. With this result, The Last Resort, 1983-86 is even the most expensive work of art by Martin Parr that we have observed at auctions so far.
