In November 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work 'Elland, England', December 1978 by Martin Parr. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,254.59), 39% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Martin Parr have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Last Resort, 1983-86 in April 2021 with an auction result of GBP 21,420.00 (€ 24,639.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Elland, England', December 1978 von Martin Parr zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.772,00 (€ 3.254,59) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Parr auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Last Resort, 1983-86 im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.420,00 (€ 24.639,23).
