Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Santa Maria Maggiore, Venice by Martin Mooney was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,452.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martin Mooney - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Santa Maria della Salute from the Redentore, Venice, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 15,105.52).

Die Arbeit Santa Maria Maggiore, Venice von Martin Mooney kam im Mai 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.452,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
