In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction Irish and 20th Century British Art, which included the work Grattan Bridge, Dublin by Martin Mooney. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,390.00 (€ 3,585.88), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Martin Mooney have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Santa Maria della Salute from the Redentore, Venice in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 15,105.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Irish and 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grattan Bridge, Dublin von Martin Mooney zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.390,00 (€ 3.585,88) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Mooney auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Santa Maria della Salute from the Redentore, Venice im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 15.105,52).
