Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction Irish Sale Part II, which included the work Near Louisburgh, Co. Mayo by Martin Mooney. The price achieved of GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,503.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Martin Mooney have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Santa Maria della Salute from the Redentore, Venice in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 15,105.52).
