Auction result misses estimated price range
In September this year a collector was able to acquire the work Incantation by Mark Tobey for USD 189,000.00 (€ 178,571.43). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War to Present at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Mark Tobey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Autumnal Fire in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 1,389,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Incantation von Mark Tobey für USD 189.000,00 (€ 178.571,43) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War to Present bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mark Tobey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Autumnal Fire im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.389.000,00.
