Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mark Antokolsky achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2012. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Mephistopheles sold for USD 122,500.00 (€ 94,158.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Antokolsky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ivan The Terrible, which sold at auction in April 2014 for USD 269,000.00 (€ 193,943.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mark Antokolsky erzielte im November 2012 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Mephistopheles für USD 122.500,00 (€ 94.158,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Antokolsky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ivan The Terrible beobachtet, die im April 2014 für USD 269.000,00 (€ 193.943,76) versteigert wurde.
