This artwork by Mark Manders achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in November 2019. In the 20th C. & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction, the work Unfinished Unfired Clay Figure sold for USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,763.32) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mark Manders; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled Head sold at auction in September 2018 with the realized price of USD 41,800.00 (€ 35,966.27).
